Tiggeman read minutes from August meeting.
Finicial report was given by Commander Doucet. Their is $6,329.00 in account.
Roger Arnold made motion to accept minutes as read. Second by Patriot Wells.
Commander Doucet stated that the VFW was in need of funds to maintain building a motions was made by Patriot Arnold that whatever our fair share was to pay it. We believe amount to be around $1.000.00 per year. Patriot Willy Harris second motion. Motion carried by unit vote.
New Business & Committee Reports
Patriot Pat Almond reported that our veteran day parade would be held in Port Allen Nov. 9, 2008. Pat will be submitted by unit to serve as Grand Marshal.
Pat also made a moition that Unit 177 purchase a Head Stone and Flag for the Veterans Cementary to recognize Fallen Veterans. This motion was appoved and Tiggeman will fall up with Lane Carson Secertary of Vetearn Affairs.
Vice Commander O'Brien made a report that A Certicificate of Apprection was presented by the Unit to Tony's Seafood for supplying food for the memerioal service for Sgt. Gillmore. Roosevelt Gipson made the presentation.
Vice- Commander O'Brien informed Unit that website would be updated with new benefits . Driver License, Property Tax Exemption and much more.
Commander Doucet shared that a Disabled Vet. Kenny White had lost his house during the hurricane and made a motion that unit 177 issue a check for $500.00 to help Kenny during this time of trouble. Patriot Arnold and Roosevelt second motion. Unit will issue check.
